Giving service in the field of energy efficiency, EWE Group company Enervis, according to the workshops conducted with the collaboration of Ministry of Economy within the textile and automotive companies situated in the Bursa Organized Industrial Zone, the industrialists waste their energy up to the rates 45 %.
Operating under the roof of EWE Turkey Holding and drawing attention due to its studies on energy efficiency, Enervis created a report that will be exemplary for the industrial sector in Turkey. The energy report cards of the textile and automotive companies situated in Bursa Organized Industrial Zone during the energy efficiency workshop conducted with the grant support given by the Ministry of Economy have been prepared. EWE Turkey Holding General Directors Dr.Frank Quante and Bekir Sami Acar together with Enervis General Director Osman Kipoğlu, have analyzed the Picture that came out with the energy efficiency workshop at the press conference. Giving professional service in the fields of energy efficiency, renewable energies, Professional training and certification and calibration, Enervis and EWE AG experts conducted a workshop together, and it was held in 16 prominent industrial companies. Informing about the workshop report, Enervis General Director Osman Kipoğlu, stated that they determined 22% energy gain potential and emphasized that the biggest ineffectiveness was caused by the inability to reuse the waste heat and pressured air losses.
SIGNIFICANT SAVING CAN BE PROVIDED WITH SIMPLE PRECAUTIONS
Kipoğlu said: “Researching the electricity and thermal energy consumptions and production data of the industrial enterprises for the past 3 years, we made detailed measurements and analyses of the all the areas such as steam and burning systems, air conditioning, lightening, electricity and automation system. As a result of these analyses, we determined that inability to regain and use the waste heat in processes, insufficient or wrong isolation and inefficient steam systems and pressured air losses and inefficient cooling systems in automotive caused energy loss”. Pointing out that making a system design that is way over the needed thermal capacity causes a significant loss, Kipoğlu warned: “As we saw, loss occurring in the pressured lines, lacking or insufficient insulation applications and most importantly throwing away the waste water heat and exhaust gas heat without recycling cause energy loss of reaching about 45%. A simple equipment maintenance or change in some of the areas where the energy loss takes place can provide a significant amount of saving”.
GOLDEN OPPORTUNITIES
Saying: “We determine the consumption distribution and loss-leakage with the know-how, technology and expert support we got from Germany by analyzing the current energy consumption in the building or facility” EWE Turkey Holding General Director and Enervis Chairman of the Executive Board Dr. Frank Quante: “We prepared energy efficiency increasing projects that we called as “Golden Opportunities” which show the industrial corporations that completed the workshops the way to use their energies efficiently by analyzing their energy consumption profiles one by one as Enervis. In the case all of these projects are applied, Turkey’s economy will derive a profit of 5.7 million Turkish liras. Also, the companies will be able to amortize the amount they spent for these restorations in about 1.5 years”.
WITH THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY BOTH THE COMPANIES AND THE COUNTRY WILL BENEFIT
Speaking at the meeting, EWE Turkey Holding General Director Bekir Sami Acar, emphasized that Turkey’s target to decrease the energy density until the year 2023 is determined as 20%Türkiye’nin 2023, added: “Energy which is used excessively in the industry is the most important expense items of the companies. Energy saving is the first and most important step in using cheap energy. Energy efficiency will not only increase the competitive power of the industrial companies but it will also bring a big contribution in decreasing the energy importation of our country. Likewise Turkey’s energy density is 2 times of the OECD countries and 4 times of Japan. 47 percent of the electricity consumption and 25 percent of the natural gas consumption in Turkey take place in the industry. Therefore operations to increase the energy efficiency in this field will decrease both the employers’ expense and our energy importation. ” In the panel held after the meeting, Yenilenebilir Enerji Vice General Director Erdal Çalıkoğlu, Bursa Deputy Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Abdulkadir Karlık, BTSO Member of the Board İlker Duran and Bursa OSB Member of the Board Abdullah Bayrak gave speeches. Many industrialists and businessmen attended the panel as well.
