1. SUESSEN EliTe® Compact Spinning System = World Leadership in Compacting
As is well known by now, compact spinning is the future of ring spinning! Today, nobody knowledgeable in spinning has any doubt about my statement. This was not always the case. I like to put the birth date of compact spinning to be the ITMA in Paris in 1999. SUESSEN, Rieter and two or three more OEMs displayed their solution for compacting ring yarn. In the following 15 years, some systems proved better than others, some are not even available any more.
SUESSEN’s EliTe® Compact Spinning System proved to be the preferred system: over 8,000,000 EliTe® Spindles are running worldwide – nobody comes close.
We at SUESSEN contribute our success to various reasons:
- As EliTe® Compact constitutes a large portion of our business, we probably had to concentrate on further development.
- All our components are manufactured in Germany only, hence we can assure consistent quality
- Our research concentrated on spinning of staple fibres. Naturally, there is some “cross inspiration” from one research group to another.
- We early on installed local service, readily available for our customers.
Compact spinning was initially used for top of the line shirting only, made from 100 % combed cotton. I remember vividly the discussions, as to whether compact spinning was going to remain a niche or would gain further markets. Today we know the answer: Compact spinning spread out.
Today, on the over 8,000,000 EliTe® Spindles installed worldwide many different products are made, here is a small sampling:
• Commercial count range Ne 6/1 carded cotton to Ne 340 (!!) combed cotton for weaving and for knitting.
• 100 % PES, 100 % viscose, and their blends for weaving and for knitting applications
• CVC, P/C for weaving, e.g. shirting
• Some customers replaced fabrics for shirting from yarn dyed combed cotton to carded cotton, etc.
I recall the first attempts at knitting a good many years ago. Initial samples were too harsh. Our customers did not give up, they reduced the twist multiplier to obtained the softness, to reduce spirality – and to in- crease production by 10 % to 20 % in some cases.
A very successful development has been EliTwist®. This is the combination of the well-known SIRO principle with EliTe® Compact Spinning System. This enhances the advantages of SIRO, while eliminating its disadvantages. In many cases, EliTwist® can successfully replace two for one twisted yarns, at very substantial savings.
About 600,000 EliTwist® Spindles are operating world- wide. Here are some of the products that are made:
- Ne 40/2 for trousers
- Ne 80/2 to Ne 160/2 for shirting
- Ne 60/2 (and up to Ne 170/2 ) for knitting, both cotton and viscose.
- Ne 100/2 for sari blouses, etc.
For the successful operation of EliTwist® some technical issues had to be solved, but all have been overcome a long time ago. Today, the main challenge to the mill is not technical, it is marketing. Those who are good in marketing such products have benefitted tremendously.
About 10 months ago, we introduced a variant of our well proven, spring-loaded Top Weighting Arm, we introduced the HP-GX 3010RPT. This is exactly like our HP-GX 3010, except that we are re-using the existing top rollers of the pneumatic top arms. To date, we have sold over 250,000 spindles with this Top Weighting Arm. The combination of EliTe®/EliTwist® CompactSet with this HP-GX 3010RPT Top Weighting arm guarantees the best yarn results possible.
2. SUESSEN Premium Parts = the best OE components
SUESSEN has been active in Open End spinning since the early 1970’s. The highly successful SE7 – SE10 series of SpinBoxes were designed and manufactured by SUESSEN, and sold in Schlafhort’s OE machines. Naturally, with that much experience in OE, the critical technological components, such as rotor, comber rolls, face plates, etc. must be the best in the market. SUESSEN’s OE components, called Premium Parts, will enhance the performance of the machines of our customers. The confidence of our customers drives us forward every day, searching for new solutions, for still better products.
