Ron Kimya, operating in the textile auxiliary chemicals, produces bleaching chemicals, coloring agents, finishing chemicals and textile oils.
Ron Kimya producing metal and special chemicals in addition to textile chemicals, actualize a production of approximately 600 tons per month. Exporting 15% of its production and aiming to increase its exportation number, Ron Kimya Dış Tic. Ltd. Şti. Chairman of the Executive Board Dr. Mehmet Said Nutku shared his views on his works and the advancements in the sector.
Can you tell us about the new products that your company releases into market and their characteristics?
“Recently we released a product called RONSOL FGM into the market. This product decreases the number of bath washing made after fabric dyeing significantly. And this helps the baths occur at much lower temperatures. Thanks to this, we save time and energy for our customers.”
What kind of contribution do textile chemicals make in textile products? Where do chemicals stand in the textile sector?
“Textile chemicals are used heavily in the knitting, bleaching, dyeing and finishing processes of textile. It starts with the oil group during knitting processes and they are used with pre-treatment chemicals in bleaching and later on used with dyeing and finishing chemicals in the textile.”
What should be done for environmental and human health? What does sustainability mean for you?
“The things that can be done for environment can be categorized under these titles: Minimizing and preventing air and water pollution, leak and spillage and noise as much as possible. Decreasing the use of packaging and wastes, making them recyclable and use them again. Developing protection methods for natural resources such as energy and water. Keeping the environmental factors in relation with the new products to be produced in the future, processes and operations under control and minimizing their impacts.”
What is the qualified staff condition of the sector? What are your views on this subject and what should be done?
“We cannot find qualified employee. Chemistry high schools are a great help for us in this matter. We try to overcome this staff problem by meeting with the schools whenever it’s necessary. “
When the world chemistry industry is considered, where does Turkish chemistry industry stand? What are the trends in textile chemicals?
“Turkish chemistry sector is on a constant acceleration that increases every passing day. We can see that from our exportation numbers. The future of the sector lies in technical textile. Technical textile is now everywhere. It is in every part of our lives with nonflammable airplane seats, water resistant and antiperspirant athletic wear and they will continue to be so.”
How do you see the sector in the forthcoming period?
“Russian embargo and deceleration in the world will of course affect our sector that is heavily dependent on exportation negatively. However during this period, I think that companies that produce good quality products and have strong basic dynamics will surpass this crisis as well.”
