he 1st Egytex and Egy Hometex Fair, which comprised of textile sub industry and home textile and held under the main organization of Vision Fairs and turned into National Participation organization by Merkür Fair Organization, took place in 26 February – 01 March 2015 in Egypt – Cairo.
Egytex and Egy Hometex Fair, which had a total of 100 companies participating, hosted more than 4000 professional visitors in 3 halls of 12000 square meters within 4 days.From Turkey, the Home Textile section was visited by Gökyıldız Tekstil while Egy Tex section was visited by Oskar İplik, Ege Şimşek Etiket, Mega Etiket and KYSD (The Garment Accessory Manufacturers’ Association). The political turmoil between Egypt and Turkey was the biggest reason in the low interest of Turkish textile and garment sub industry sector in this fair. Being in cooperation with KYSD, Merkür Fair Organization conducted a B2B Meeting of Turkey organization in order to increase the projects towards the sector and to show that there was no problem in commercial and human relations in the region and to pave the way for the market. 2 day-long business trip, which took place with the participation of 10 members within the association, gave positive results. The meeting was held with the participation of 20 companies that produce ready-made clothing and home textile in Egypt. Turkish companies that produce label, zip, and narrow woven – rubber etc. products attracted the attention of the many.
In bringing purchasers to this meeting and organization, Cairo Commercial Attaché and TÜMİAD (Turkish & Egyptian Businessmen Association) provided support. This fair and meeting organization showed once again how important Turkey was for Egypt in textile and sub industry in terms of quality and fast solution. The sector and KYSD authorities stated that they will work on the preparations fo the organization in 2016. Egypt proved that it was back on its feet in textile and garment production to the participants of this fair.
At the end of February 2016, Egystitchandtex (Egypt Textile – Garment Machinery Fair) will take place simultaneously with the Egytex Fair. Merkür Fair Organization underlined that Egypt will turn back to its busy days both in textile – garment machinery and textile sub industry sector.
