Roland DG, being one of the major digital printing manufacturers of the world, exhibited special variety of products, and showcased application, solutions and services especially geared towards the textile printing businesses at Texpo Eurasia 2015 held at TÜYAP fair last month, being an importan meeting platform for the textile industry. Stevan KORAÇ, Sales Director o fRoland DG for Turkey, gave a briefing on his evaluation of the fair and the Turkish market and answered our questions.
What is Roland’s environment policy and vision of future? Could you also inform us about the consistency of Roland’s products to environment?
“Concern for the environment is of foremost importance to the management of Roland DG. In this regard Roland DG is doing its utmost to pursue its activities in an environmentally friendly way. Due to our corporate principles and supervenience towards our business partners and customers, it is our responsibility to always share with them in detail our environment policy in an open manner. We do not regard our environment policy as one of the duties that should be implemented in today’s conditions. We were the first company ever to have produced EcoSolvents 14 years ago and in this sense we have lead the way in this industry. Being a highly concerned manufacturer in terms of environment, we are sensitive towards following and applying all kinds of regulations such as EnergyStarm and EcoLabel. We have modeled our vision for the environment based on our awareness of the significance attached towards safeguarding the ecosystem and contributing to wards sustainability for the benefit of the coming generations. We shall continue with our activities in scope of this same vision we are aspiring at .”
Which products did you exhibit in Texpo Eurasia 2015? Could you evaluate the fair in general?
“We have exhibited our paint sublimation printers geared particularly towards the textile market at the Texpo Eurasia Fair 2015. I can say that our new 64 inch ink sublimation printer Texart RT-640 that functions with Texart ink was the product that caught the most attention at the fair. Texart RT- 640 offers an extraordinary wide range of colors thanks to it two different ink configuration of four (CMYK) or eight (CMYK LcLm OrVi) colored inks as well as two varieties of software options namely Ergo Soft Roland Edition and Roland Versa Works. The product offer high contrast live printing, producing intensive and first class printing. RT-640 is a product that to our mind increases the commercial opportunities of the textile businesses, particularly with the great variety of applications it offers such as in garment, signboard, interior decoration, fashion and original product. At the fair we also showcased PRO-4 XF-640 endowed with CMYK sublimation inks. PRO-4 XF-640, thanks to its design as a result of an incomparable body engineering, features two gold plated heads and in order to offer high quality results it is capable of working with seven different drip levels. Aside from our paint sublimation solutions we have also allocated a special place for Versa EXPRESS RF- 640 at the fair. Regarding RF-640 that features the latest printing head technology and GREENGUARD gold certified four colored (CMYK configuration) ECO-SOL MAX2 inks, as a result of its most important feature, the new ‘Roland Printer Assist iPad’ application, we are offering the opportunity for remote control production and managing test printing and cleaning processes to iPad tablet users. Moreover, when the machine runs out of ink, the ‘Roland Ink Transfer System’ brings the printer to a stop and allows the auxiliary cartridge to function automatically without any need for bringing the printer to a stop. We allocated a special space at the fair in view of those who have newly begun to use digital printing. Our visitors had the opportunity to see for themselves the quality and user-friendly aspects of Versa STUDIO BN-20 and Versa CAMM SP-300i as well as of our new desktop CAMM-1 GS-24 cutter. On the other hand, at the fair we have also exhibited another attractive solution that we have in offer for the textile market which is Versa UV LEF-20 UV. Benzersiz bir kalite ile farklı ve 2 mm’ye kadar kavisli materyallere baskı olanağı sunan The unequalled quality of LEF-20 that offers printing on differing and up to 2 mm curved material is the perfect choice for personalizing garment accessories, presents and devices. In general terms the fair was a success. However, even though our current customers and textile businesses have participated on a great scale, we observed a lower participation level on the part of digital printing manufacturers. We had experienced more differently at the Texpo Eurasia 2014. Therefore, at this moment we are analysing this new trend in customer demands.”
What are your expectations for Turkish textile market in 2015? How do you interpret the growth of the market for digital textile printing?
“We are endeavoring to contribute towards the development of the textile market that is increasingly growing by coming up with solutions. Although during the last months of 2014 we have experienced a small amount of decrease in the textile industry, the significance this industry conveys together with the growth curve is our primary concern. We are creating solutions in accordance with the requirements of the Turkish textile market and by determining the growth potential points. The major part of domestic market demands are being met through local manufacturing. On the other hand, manufacturing plants are producing on a large scale for foreign markets, destined to Russia, the Middle East and Europe in particular. However, external factors such as the latest tensions in the political field and Turkey’s geographic proximity to the regions where tensions are high may induce changes in the above said trends. Due to these reasons, it is imperative that we follow up attentively the said trends as well as the global trade cycle.”
