Being the world leader in color and special chemicals, Archroma introduced new Inkpresso system for digital printing. Archroma attended ITMA 2015 with its solutions, gathering its performance, financial optimization and responsible textile production under the motto of “It is Wonderful. Color is enhanced. Performance is enhanced. Sustainability is enhanced.” The company held ‘Innovation Sessions’, which allowed visitors to be informed about what some of the innovations in the textile sector mean in detail, at its stand. In the held ‘Innovation Session’, Inkpresso®, which is a pioneering system believed to leave a mark in the sector of digital textile printing, was introduced to visitors. Developed together with Swiss technology provider, Ink-Situ, Inkpresso is going to change the ways of providing ink for digital printing machines. The system brings together advantages, which have never been achieved in ink-jet printing systems until now, such as output elasticity, wider scale of colors and individual color fingerprint. Beate Plückhan , Archroma head of Sales Europe/Africa BU Textile Chemicals, gave a speech on Inkpresso digital printing system, which was newly developed and exhibited for the first time at ITMA; she said “In the globalized world, more than 20 trillion meters of printed cloth is produced. Now, only 2 per cent of them are produced with digital printing. The main component of this ready-to-use combination is water. However, it causes higher transportation costs, increasing environmental effects and decreasing shelf-life. Inkpresso system provides to mix ink in place and when it is wanted. By bringing the ink production back to printing machines, Inkpresso leads to the revolution of digital printing. The central component of the system is Inkpresso Formulation Unit where eight color modules are located. Colors can always be mixed in order to fulfill the special requests of the manufacturers. Depending on the size and complexity of the printing company, ink can be directly carried to the printing machine through pipes from Inkpresso IFU or more than one printing machines can be fed meanwhile by using a special distribution unit. Additionally, colors can be contained in the storage unit for few weeks.”
TURKEY IS AN IMPORTANT MARKET
Also evaluating the developments in digital printing and Turkish market, Plückhan said “Because the developments in digital printing can respond to the customer demands faster, this sector is rapidly improving. Turkish market is an extremely important market for us. Turkey is one of the biggest markets. We are closely following up all of the developments about textile in Turkey. When we look around, Turkey’s development in the textile sector is quite higher compared to other countries. Technology and investments are rapidly developing. If you want to take a share in the market, Turkey is one of the most important countries that have to be closely followed, and we are already doing this.”
